We are tickled to share this incredible review from Kerin Mcclure, the Instructional Coordinator of Language Arts in St. Vrain Valley Schools in Colorado. Kerin is a graduate of Stanford University and once upon a time elementary school teacher. She writes: "Teachers receiving The Bargfrosh Boy book are a lucky bunch! One thing that really struck me (besides just being totally delighted by the story) was what a beautiful example this is of a complex text that is accessible to students. In this phase of implementing the CCSS/CAS [Common Core State Standards/Colorado Academic Standards], we are working hard to make sure that our students are exposed to text that is appropriately complex for the grade level. With its multiple layers of meaning, use of playful language and characters that are seemingly simple, but provide depth, this [The Bargfrosh Boy Book] is a great mentor text for students of any age! I can't wait to start using it as a model text with teachers. The fact that it will be engaging for our boy readers is icing on the cake. It also reminded me of the way Dr. Seuss weaves in those big human truths in stories like Horton and the Lorax. Anyway, just my thoughts :-)" You can follow Kerin McClure on Twitter@SVVSDLA

Perfect Fantasy Read for Preschool and Elementary Students.
The following review is by Holli Buchter on Amazon reviews: I am a District Librarian for a large school district in Colorado. I recently purchased 26 copies (one for each elementary school). This book is a refreshing fantasy tale with a minimum of characters filled with enough adventure to keep the older kids interested. Beautiful illustrations make this a perfect choice for home, school library, or children's section in a public library. A Joy to Read!
Leigh Murphy, an ESL teacher describes the Bargfosh Boy "Kids will love the sense of wonder and curiosity that is captured in this beautifully written and illustrated book. They will relate to the Bargfrosh boy's desire to venture beyond the familiar ... to a place of mystery and enchantment. In addition, the rhythmic nature of the story and the whimsical illustrations will capture any young reader's attention!” Leigh Murphy on Amazon Reviews "This book was inspired by a little boy who had a fantastic imagination at a very young age - one that is uniquely illustrated in this charming book. If your child loves Where the Wild Things Are or Going on a Bear Hunt, the enchanting rhyme and unique vocabulary soon make this book a family favorite.”
Mel Potock on Amazon Reviews The Bargfrosh Boy was inspired by a real 4 year old boy. In his first two years, that real little boy couldn’t speak. One woman changed all that. Mel Potock, of My Munch Bug is an award winning and renowned Feeding specialist as well as Speech and Language Pathologist and who step by step helped the boy develop language. It is because of her dedicated work with him that he not only developed speech and language but now manipulates language!
Here is what Mel shared on her Facebook fan page "The Bargfrosh Boy was inspired by a little boy I had the joy of playing with as an SLP. His fantastic imagination at such a young age is illustrated in this charming book. If your child loves Where the Wild Things Are or Going on a Bear Hunt, the enchanting rhyme and unique vocabulary will soon make this book a family favorite." ~Mel Potock of My Munch Bug Need to inspire your child to read instead of playing digital games? Give them a book that will engage them. The Bargfrosh Boy is delighting young children everywhere! But don’t take our word for it, read what one Colorado elementary school teacher in Douglas Schools had to say on Amazon Reviews…
"As an elementary school teacher, the value of this book to your classroom library is undeniable because a skillfully written mythical tale is too hard to pass up. This book is enchanting for students to read, but also easily offers opportunities to model and teach reading strategies like prediction, inferring, and sequencing. A must for any young person's and/or teacher's library!!” - Jenn Bruns
